Citizens of Humanity Poison high-rise skinny jeans

Well after this week's drama, sure of having offended big names in the industry and alienated entire socialite circles - hopeful that Cannes will act like a sort of amnesia -,  I can now sit down and dedicate some time to less trivial things. I present you the high-waisted jean.

These are my first pair and the only so far that can successfully accommodate both my waist and my hips at the same time. Sure the waist could still be smaller but let's not be too needy. These fit like a glove and for an hourglass, I recommend them. If you're straighter they will  fit you too since they are very very stretchy, much like the Avedon Slick and just as soft.

It's only a shame that denim companies don't spend more time thinking about the curvy girls, because there are few things less enchanting than sinuous jeans. These are a good bet for any style of crop top, or for walking around covering your boobs with your hands like I like doing. They are a perfect rise, not too awkward, and skinny always looks better on small girls. If you're tall you might wanna go for a bootcut instead. Tall and skinny and if I were you i'd be wearing the widest leg pijama trousers imaginable, let's face it.

I also love a high waist with a belt, and of course with tucked-in silk shirts.






 

I feel like I haven't been home for days. It's been a strange diet of carrot soup, detox juice and kir royales, and I don't entirely blame myself. Maybe tonight someone will get some sleep.

But we're here to talk about rainbows.  As you know I sprinted to Wildfox the other day the moment Siréne made its appearance. Life priorities, I tell ya.  This is one of the things that came back with me. It is really, really pretty and has the same texture as the sweatshirts. It is amazing. I've been wearing it non stop. People think I'm crazy. It's the perfect crop top aswell, should you want something to show off your Tracy Anderson abs. I would only wear it with high waisted jeans though (post on that coming soon...).

 On my face I am now wearing Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in Beige #30, which is actually not much darker than #20 at all, just warmer and a bit brighter. I honestly can't decide which one I like better. This one is very peachy.

My new favourite thing for a day smokey is Burberry Almond eyeshadow, natural and flawless, with my trusty Max Factor 2000 calorie mascara in Brown.

Cheeks as always are Burberry Earthy. Best, blush, ever.

Lips are Giorgio Armani #2 lip liner, and Chanel Plaisir glossimer. Thrilled that Chanel released another non-shimmer gloss, they are my absolute favourite. It's pretty much a nude color and so sheer.

And the Sirène collection makes its debut.

I came across Wildfox's Summer lookbook back in February, and I have since been patiently waiting pouncing on the sales assistants from all over the world trying to find out when the items would get released. This is only the first of a happy series, I fully intend to get at least a couple of things, and the shell shirt had to happen. The color is beautiful with a tan, and the fabric is light and works beautifully with the cut of the tee. I'm not even a t shirt person but these are something else.

Summer is so much easier to dress, you could argue it's because of the layers, but also because- and this might sound like an odd remark- everything looks better next to skin. The simplest things are immediately flattering and interesting. It's the reason why fashion photography is mostly minimal clothes over naked bodies, there's no other way. You can use a lot more colour and a lot more print, and generally have more freedom, when you have some exposed skin to work with; skin simplifies and balances things out.
 
As you can tell I'm back in London, and not massively content about it! Planning, planning...

We are still in Ibiza here, at Adventures of Barbarella, and I still have plenty of bikini material under my sleeve...but first, a night look. Ibiza nights are all very casual with a touch of sparkle, and I alternate shorts and a t shirt with the silk kaftans and white adlib dresscode.

I know what you're looking at, my belt is ravishing. It's from Nanni, and the quantity of swarovskis won me over immediately. I love it with Summer shorts like these. It's also quite rock n roll so it compliments my leather jackets nicely.

Got this little bag made by one of my favourite artesans, it's pretty much a classic flap, looks like the Chanel from a distance but is a lot simpler. The leather is amazing and I'm having a great time stroking it. Splendid for fetishists.

I regret not taking more pictures around town..the time will come. I wasn't feeling so inclined on this occasion. Honestly, save for those occasions where you plan it ahead with friends and it's part of the entertainment, a big-responsibility camera is the last thing you wanna have in one hand while you're juggling a glass of sangria in the other. We all know how big pint glasses are in comparison with my fingers. My readers will hopefully forgive me for the lack of grand location photos, I promise to make it up to you in Summer when I'll be going to the BEACH! Rocks are a vision to behold.

1. I check the gate number of my flight on the screen. It has already been announced. Gate n7

2. Quick detour to check out the makeup counters. Very aware that I need to go immediately to gate 7

3. I go to the toilet

4. I can't find the gate because there are no signs?

5. I get to gate 7, 10min before boarding time, expecting to find a queue round the block as usual

6. Nobody in the queue. Everybody seems to be sitting down on the seats, some of them sleeping.

7. Since nobody seems to be moving, i find myself a seat. This all seems suspiciously civilized for Easyjet

8. I sit down, and look around me. Everyone most relaxed. Doesn't look like they have the least intention of forming a queue anytime soon

9. Cabin crew expectantly waiting for the passengers to make a move. They announce the Easyjet boarding system. Passengers turn to look at crew, seem unimpressed

10. Cabin crew member asks passengers to please walk over and form a queue.

11. Cabin crew manages to mobilise passengers who slowly walk up to their queue, no stress tainting their countenance.

12. Boarding begins

How it works in London: Passengers in a crowd standing in front of the screens that will announce the gate. The second the gate is announced, they all run for their lives until they reach the gate, forming an interminable queue where they will stand for approximately 40 minutes until the crew even appears

We're still in Ibiza here, in Adventures of Barbarella!

Today to go to the medieval festival, I offer you a most typical Ibiza outfit. Hair carefully arranged to look wet (Polysianes Monoi oil. One needs nothing else!), silk shirt from my dear friend Vicente Ganesh which I own in many colours, and a delicately bronzed makeup. Rose gold sparkle hoops are from a shop in my hometown, can't remember what it's called.

My friends insisted that I wear flats (different friends) so I wore my very trusty Ancient Greek sandals that I've mentioned before. (link)

It's interesting how May still allows me to wear plenty of makeup, whereas when I attempt this in July it just slips right off (and that is if I succesfully applied it. Usually I'm so sweaty it's impossible). This made me very happy. I LOVE May. May is the moment. It's happening
 

Ibiza ess

An ode to this bikini from Poisson D'Amour which I came across the other day and has had me swoon over it for the past few moons... It is just so sweet and such a great colour. It reminds me of what Dolce & Gabbana do.

As you can tell I'm getting a lot done here. The dream ends tomorrow. But i will be back.
