Today I am doing a lip swatch presentation of a few of my favourite Tom Ford lipsticks. I was feeling positive this morning and I'm barely wearing any makeup...a little bit of Dior Hydraflash BB cream on my T-zone, and brown mascara. Happy days! This allows us to see the lipsticks in all their potential.
The first, Sable Smoke. I can't say I've worn this a lot because I've only gotten it this week, but it's a fantastic shade for warm skintones, a perfect caramel nude.
Adobe pink is my favourite natural nude. It looks good with everything, no makeup, lots of makeup..It makes you instantly pretty and I always like having it around. It's kind of in the family of MAC Twig and Bobbi Brown Brownie Pink, MAC Modesty and all those. I love my brown pinks, they're the best for my skintone that's pale but mediterranean. People always mistake me for an "english rose" and try to put me in all those Winter colors which look tragic- sure, I'm blonde/blue and pale, but my colouring is very golden and i need warmth more than color.
I just got Indian Rose, it seems very similar to Adobe Pink but slightly pinkier and lighter, still with a nice mauvey brown base. I think this is gonna be a winner! it brightens my eyes, that's always a good sign.
And now for some play time
This is me smoking "Crimson Noir"
It's a funny one, it looks like it would be a regular deep red in the tube, but it's actually a lollipop sheer-ish pinky red. Not a color I would have chosen, but with that name I just had to own it. It looks modern and is easy to wear without a liner which I like. And it looks very pretty and natural as a stain.
My other favourites (not pictured)
- Black Orchid: The best vampy lip that isn't too black
- True Coral: Very special, it's almost neon. A coral pink
- Blush Nude: Great pale nude for a 60s look but you need a lot of eye liner with this one
- Pink Dusk: Great pink nude
Nails are Chanel Particuliere, a rediscovery.
