Stacked: Joining the arm party

It was all Leandra's fault with her pretty bracelets stacked all along her wrists that inspired me to throw on everything I've got. Hers is an amalgamate of interesting pieces, pieces each with an origin and a story, expensive pieces. I don't like the idea of buying a bunch of bangles from some made-in-china chainstore and pretending I'm Nicole Richie circa 2005, it seems a little passe. I do however very much like the idea of getting all the curious things I have together, and wearing them at the same time. What better ocassion than today? (today is always the best time for everything. That's my motto). Bracelets perfect to wear when you don't want to be austere, but you don't feel girly enough for earrings.

Here's the bling (left to right)
- Melinda Maria bangles present from my friend Trish
- Michael Kors watch present from my mom
- Swarovski tennis bracelet, christmas present from years ago
- 2 buddhist prayer bead seed bracelets with amethysts and white agathe. These were the first things I ordered when I started practicing at 18. It was a very good house, they made excellent pieces and you can feel their good energy right away. I've worn those so much over the years. I'm not sure if the house is selling anymore, I couldn't reach them.
- Monica Vinader fiji bracelet in chocolate brown "success"
- Philippe Audibert rose gold cuff bracelet that I've been a little bit obsessed with.

On the right hand we have my Monica Vinader bracelet. (and Lanvin "star compass" ring, another current fetish)

This bracelet thing might also have something to do with my newly found appreciation for my arms. With all the polework, and the tortures that Tracy Anderson makes me go through, I have become increasingly aware of them. I had always regarded them as those stupid limbs that hung awkwardly on either side of my body and I've done my best to hide them, but you know what? Now I kind of like them, I feel completely different about it, I want to adorn them. I acknowledge them; they exist.

  1. I don’t know another person with a better taste in jewelry, love every single piece, Diana! I’ve been wanting the Swarovski tennis and MV fiji bracelets forever, hopefully I will adorn my hands with them in the future too:) Lovely post! xx
