Favourite look #1: A natural nude

It's not the right time for a beauty shot when I've just got in home from the cold and my skin is all parched...but whatever! i wanted to share a couple of looks that are my "go-to" and that I recommend, and I thought I'd start with this one. It's usually a variation of this that I do during the day, when I can be bothered, and here I've chosen some of my all-time "staples".

These looks are all gonna be about my absolute favourite products, the kind of things I would include in my suitcase if I was travelling for three months and wanted to have a couple of sure, no-shit options.

Skin base + Base: Skinceuticals Retexturing Activator serum, Clarins Liquid Bronze, Laura Mercier Mineral Powder Foundation in Natural Beige. I have been loyal to these products for ever, the mineral foundation could never be replaced; i've tried other things and they are different but not better. This just doesn't give you any problems, you don't feel it, and you don't feel it on your skin afterwards. I would not choose it for pictures though- liquid looks considerably better on pictures, because this has a definite sheen. I also like how versatile the shades are, this one fits me when I'm a little tan, and also when I'm super dark. As for the Liquid Bronze self tanner, I've been loving it- it does exactly what a self tanner should do - go completely unnoticeable. It makes my face the same shade of my body, and that's all it does.

Concealer undereyes: YSL Touche Eclat. Feels like an eye treatment and changes your whole complexion

Eyeshadow (as a wash): Benefit cream eyeshadow in Flatter Me (a taupe mauve). If I can avoid it, I'll always choose a cream over a powder during the day, they are so easy. I like shades like these, that give you a little definition but don't obstruct the face during the day. If I want a dramatic look during the day I'd rather wear a dark lipstick, than do a smokey eye. Just doesn't feel right for day

Eyeliner: YSL Waterproof in black. Best. Eyeliner. Ever. Smudgy, dark as coal, and does not come off

Mascara: Max Factor 2000 Calorie. Certainly my favourite for a while. It's not as dramatic as the Dior Extase but I love the separation of the lashes; for that alone it's worth it. It also comes off easy with my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish

Cheeks: NARS Laguna used as a bronzer on cheeks, nose, temples..I've used this forever, it gives a great flush that works year round. I'd usually wear something darker in the height of Summer; otherwise Laguna would always fit the bill. It's also very dear to me because it was my first bronzer and I used it non-stop for years during my teens. Good times

Lipstick: MAC Creme Cup. This quickly became a go-to colour as soon as it came out, can't go wrong with a clear baby pink

Nails: Essie Velvet Voyeur. Already a classic in my wardrobe. Best dark ever along with Rouge Noir- yea, i compared it to Chanel Rouge Noir.

I just came back from my first class of poledancing and my arms are killing me. I'm running a hot bath as prescribed. Me & two friends have put together PRIVATE lessons so we each have a pole for an hour and next is on Monday! hardcore.
