The acclaimed W plus size model pictures. I'm sorry, but when a model looks this sexual, it stops being fashion and it becomes men magazine glamour.
I could care less about how skinny or fat she is, that's not the point. Fashion models are not only skinny; they're mannequins, they're awkward, they're freaks and ghosts, they transform themselves. No one is trying to claim they're sexy, they don't look sexual or pretty. They are transparent. YOU DON'T SEE THEM. They work to present clothes.
So yea, fashion modelling FAIL. That said, I applaud these and I think there is a big big gap to be filled by curvy commercial models in men's magazines.

FAT VS SKINNY and the Real Woman
I refuse to go into this topic for longer than necessary, but I am offended at how the media has been presenting this "issue".
My thoughts:
a) Fat is not better than skinny. Skinny is not better than fat.
b) "Real women" are not fat. We're all real women.
c) No one should be bullied for being fat or skinny.
d) Being skinny should not be associated to malnutrition or eating disorders. It's incorrect, and it's misleading.
e) Being skinny doesn't give you superpowers that will allow you to do better at everything in life.
Being fat or skinny is not a bloody problem!
Also, and this is an entirely different subject, but obsessing over doing what other people with different qualities are doing is not "challenging" and it does not "prove" anything. It's stupid! All these "feminist ideas" with women wanting men jobs and fat women wanting skinny girl jobs and vice versa. It's dumb. We're all different and we do different things.
Why can't we all be ballet dancers? Why can't we all be firemen? Oh, here's an idea. Why can't fat ballerinas with eating disorders be firemen? That would sure PROVE like, everything.
Lady Gaga should make a song out of it

I completely agree with everything you said here! It seems that society has made this shift where they are trying too hard to “include” overweight girls that it goes too far and is almost discrimination against skinny girls. They say, “healthy women” and show pictures like the ones above. Who’s to say that skinny isn’t healthy? I’ve got nothing against overweight or fat but it seems that lately there has been such a divide. It’s annoying to have to hear so much about weight and that they push it to include heavier girls in high fashion magazines when it is plain out, distracting.
Yes! It would be beautiful if we could all be happy about being who we are, as long as we’re healthy.
I completely agree with you too! I am naturally skinny, and I have been my whole life. I get tired of people assuming that because I am skinny, that I must have something wrong with me. It’s really annoying. I also hate how the media seems to pit skinny women against fat women, why do they do this? It’s so stupid. Also, I hate what the media says is “curvy.” Curvy is not a woman who is 200 pounds, that’s gross. Curvy is a woman who has curves, which has no weight limit, plain and simple. I think the above ad is gross, you can see their rolls of skin on their sides, yuck. The weight that they are at now is only going to look worse when they are older.
Yea I don’t think curvy should translate as “fat” either.. you can be thin and curvy, too. It’s like, if we called all thin girls “svelte”…
Also i didn’t point this out, but these pictures are very retouched, because fat in women = cellulite. Skin is never that smooth when there’s that much going on…That is just the way it is. And I think, if anything, that would make fat women feel bad because, there is no way in hell anybody with that amount of fat is going to have skin that smooth. It’s unreal.
